C'est Bon French Restaurant, Port Melbourne opened it's doors to the public on Friday, September 15th, 2006 amidst much celebration. Situated at 'The Paris End' of Bay Street, quietly meeting City Road.
Owned and operated by Amélie Bonnet, daughter of renowned French Chef/Restaurateur Michel Bonnet and restaurant beauty Trisha Bonnet. Born into a family of restaurateurs, Amélie started working in restaurants before she was ten. After 5 years abroad, travelling from New York to London to Vancouver, in 2003 Amélie opened the original C'est Bon in Cairns with the help from her French father. After 3 years of sharing an office with Michel and winning Regional and State awards, such as Best European Restaurant in QLD, that long term dream of a Melbourne C'est Bon was getting closer.
C'est Bon is an inviting, classically styled restaurant with timber floorboards, Bentwood chairs and white linens... It has an intimately warm feel to it, reminiscent of French bistro interiors of New York and Paris restaurants. The menu features Michel's classical French dishes, lovingly executed by young talented French Chef Thomas Routhieau (from Nantes). It is quite unlike anything Port Melbourne has experienced in years.
